Welcome to Dunnerholme Golf Club

The Dunnerholme Golf Club was founded in 1905, nestles alongside the estuary of the Duddon River. The Duddon Valley opens out on either side allowing the golfer to enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views to be found in the Lake District.

The ancient village of Ireleth to the East side, with it's Parish church high on the side of the valley, overlooks the course and estuary. Black Coombe, to the west, looms over the course in glowering stature, being almost 2,000 feet high and dominating the entrance to the estuary as well as the Duddon Valley.

Look North up the valley, and the Old Man of Coniston terminates a vista of seventeen peaks of the Lake District, starting at Black Coombe.

Dunnerholme Rock represents itself as a flat topped rock which juts out from the golf course in to the estuary. An impressive rock fault from which the golf course gets it's name! This freak of nature is utilised in the architecture of the golf course.

The golf course itself is almost unique as it consists of (ten holes), not nine or eighteen, but ten! This means eight holes have to be repeated, but there is little chance of repetition as the tees used present each of the replayed holes in an entirely different prospective, therefore ensuring a true test of golf.

The course lying close to the sea very seldom can be played without the element exerting considerable influence.

We offer an good 19th hole for the hungry and thirsty golfer with a warm welcome for everyone. We hope you can and visit us and enjoy your round, we know you will enjoy our hospitality at the clubhouse
